In the calf, CCM uses floating compressed EVA foam, a lightweight material that provides improved protection for maximum impact. Additionally, the bottom has added abrasion resistance for those pesky skate tongues. The padding in the thigh area is molded EVA foam, which stays close to the body for a customized feel and high-level protection.

The kneecaps use JDP material and have a removable/adjustable comfort pad. The JDP kneecap construction helps disperse impact force away from the knee joint. The shin cap is constructed with compress-molded zotefoam and PE plastic, with multiple ventilation ports for premium breathability. 

For the attachments, the FT6 uses a two-strap system: an upper lock strap with comfort cushion and a length-adjustable calf strap. The upper strap locks the top of the pad in place for a secure feel, while the bottom strap offers customization based on personal preference for how you want the pad to feel, offering the ideal snug fit.
